My Dr. has diagnosed me with PCOS and I am a happy 23 year old Married Woman. I have gained a lot of weight this last year and have been told reason being is becuase of PCOS. It is also very hard for me to conceive and even have regular periods. I dont want to take all of these different pills and have 20 Dr. apts a year. I hate Dr.'s and I hate meds. Is there any advice on how to have regular periods or even conceive?
Any advice would help. Thank you.PCOS.. Would love any advice on pcos?
Yep carbs are our enemy lol, Low GI diet is the way to go, I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 17 (13yrs ago), however I am extremely fertile and fall pg very easily my problem is actually maintaining a pg, after multiple m/c, and multiple chemical pregnancy's, Metformin was my saviour and I have 2 lil girls because of it. Metformin can also help some pcos women lose weight too as well as concieve, and most doc's will give you repeat scripts for it so you don't have to go back to the doc so often, even though you hate doctor's it's most advisable to go and see one regulary throughout year to keep an eye on things, How much do you want to concieve? I absolutely hate going too but want to conceive more so will do go when I have to. Currently on cycle 2 tttc#3, after 1st cycle resulted in chemical pregnancy last month.
Most pcos women will need the intervention of a doctor with the meds. I've only seen my doctor once in nearly 3 months now, everything else has been over the phone with her. Good luck to you though and hope you achieve a BFP soon. fingers crossed you find something that suits you.PCOS.. Would love any advice on pcos?
I was diagnosed with PCO 10 years ago. Went through fertility treatments and everything. Nothing worked. Did research and seen that they linked insulin resistance with PCO. Recommendation was to cut back on carbs. I followed the directions and deleted breads, pastas, cereals, sweets and rice from my daily diet and lost 50 lbs. I got pregnant rather fast after that. I am now pregnant with my 3rd. If I eat to many bad carbs I gain weight and my periods get wacky but if I watch my carbs I can maintain a weight and have regular periods.
I am also 23, and just diagnosed w/ pcos. They put me on the byetta shot and metformin. i don't know too much about it...i think its been 2 wks now! but i heard that these meds are supposed to increase fertility. they have so many positive side effects or whatever, i think personally it is well worth it for me. maybe if you don't like the meds you are taking after you concieve and have your baby, you can stick to bc pills. they are known to help correct pcos too. i don't know. but if you have any specific questions you can email me. my name is rachel Princess_of_zales@yahoo.com
